Gunderloch Jean-Baptiste Riesling Kabinett

Gunderloch Jean-Baptiste Riesling Kabinett

Jean Baptiste Gunderloch is he protagonist in Carl Zuckmayerґs story "Der frцhliche Weinberg" ( the joly vineyard ). Their wine has been named after him. Jean Baptiste is their only classical medium dry Kabinett wine. It is typical for the red soil of their vineyards.

This very well made expression of a German Riesling, mostly dry with just a little residual sugar. The nose is full of apricots and cold blossoms. The palate is citrusy tart and just a little bit sweet, with noticeable minerality. The wine finishes clean and lively.

The Rheinhessen Kabinett with 11% alcohol having the style of medium-dry, and recently the 2006 Gunderloch Riesling Kabinett Jean-Baptiste was rated with 88 points.

Its one of my favourite Riesling, Drink it while its still available.

Thanks
